Wanted a short cut from Mexican Hat to Lake Powell. Looked pretty tame on the map. As you went up the hill the road went away and at the top was a fence to keep you away from the vertical drop.

LOL! angcat's comment was about the road in Norway. You really had me confused for a minute. My mistake. I didn't look at the post number that angcat was referring to. I assumed it was the photo that immediately preceded his post (which you also posted).

Not Pakistan I wouldn't go there lol I would shoot my mouth off about how I hate those Muslim bastards and I would be dead in a minute!Wouldn't want that to happen. Given the Islamization of Scandinavia in the past few years, it might not be that safe to speak out in Norway, either.

The road going up Mt. Washington in New Hampshire is pretty wild.

As you went up the hill the road went away and at the top was a fence to keep you away from the vertical drop.I don't remember seeing a fence...lol.
I do remember stopping near the top to view the area (at a turnout). I remarked to my son, "this is right out of Cars, i.e. the view from the Wagon Wheel Hotel.
The fact that it was a gravel road made it nerve wracking.
Did you stop at Goosenecks State Park?

Did you stop at Goosenecks State Park? No, I've seen pictures though. We did stay at a motel above the San Juan River in Mexican Hat. I love that part of the world.

Nothing like being on that road on the outside in a 30 ft camper and have a semi with a giant crane on the inside while following a truck with a 20 ft boat on the back and having a truck pulling a trailer behind you.
Longest half hour of my life.
