The Miltary is open. So is the post office. The IRS is shut down.

I believe a separate CR was passed to pay the troops but many support services and facilities will be affected

pity the poor b@stards that may get stuck in Afghanistan because of delays in processing their return and replacement

Simple answer is "No".

Contractor support to the military may stop but some contractors are "essential" too.
