The flagship newspaper of American capitalism comes up with this column???
To: colorado tanker
Talk about a real extension of the “course correction” on News Corp’s part.

Good point! The Ancient Romans also made THEIR sporting events “free” - - - - .

It’s the “mandatory” liberal column so people won’t think the WSJ leans right. Like CNN for example, where they have a token’ Konservative who thinks like a libtard.

BTW, the Farmer’s Almanac says NYC will be frigid right about that time. I hope not, that would probably kill the idea of other Northern Super Bowls in uncovered stadiums.
To: colorado tanker
There's nothing uncapitalist about the idea -- no suggestion that the government should get involved to force the NFL to give away tickets. If the NFL decides that it can make more money from the hype of giving away tickets, whatever.
That said, its a stupid idea, because even with the tickets at $2600 a pop, people are still willing to pay so there'd be little point to doing what this guy suggests.

It mostly is free. Those premium tickets are perk tickets the league gives out to sponsors and partners. Most SB tickets are comped, it’s a back slap event.

Well, in that case, all SBs that get played in the south should also experience a sudden blizzard. After all, the IPCC was recently forced to admit that we are in a period of global cooling . . .

That’s right, it’s a market issue. Plenty of demand for those tix.
To: nickcarraway
It already is free. I turn on the TV I bought 15 years ago, and there it is!

Reminds me of the scene in “The Idiot” where the guy comes to ask Nathan for money to fix the cracked seats in his airplane. It’s just plain embarrassin’ flying my friends to the Super Bowl with seats like that.

LOL! Well, up here some nutjobs are claiming the floods were due to globull warming because it's just gonna create severe weather everywhere. So, that's how days of cold rain proves globull warming.
So, a blizzard in the South would just be more proof of globull warming. Right?
To: nickcarraway
I wouldn't go even if it were free.

Of course. One cannot dispute dogma. Right?
Remember Hillary blaming Katrina on global warming and Bush not acting to mitigate it? Like a tax can stop a hurricane?

A lottery is the progressives’ ideal of fairness.
They want to turn all of life into lottery.

Oh yea, everything should be free. Then the scalpers can sell the free tickets for $3000.
This is stupidity on steroids.
