NSA director modeled top secret war room to look like the bridge of Star Trek's Enterprise
As head of the Army's Intelligence and Security Command, Keith Alexander gave orders from the odd room designed with tax dollars
Alexander now heads the embroiled NSA
The director of one of Americas largest spy agencies is catching flack for once working from a war room built with American tax dollars to mimic a fantastical space ship.
Keith Alexander heads up the National Security Agency and in addition to a lot on controversial revelations about his organization, a recent profile of the top spy says that when he ran the Army's Intelligence and Security Command, it was from the captains chair of the starship USS Enterprise.
Specifically, from the Enterprise of the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation. And the eccentric director known as a cowboy reportedly used the odd room to woo lawmakers and other important officials who coveted the chance to play captain.
Designed by a Hollywood set designer to mimic the famous ships bridge, Alexanders base of operations in the Fairfax County, Virginia Army base was complete with chrome panels, computer stations, a huge TV monitor on the forward wall, according to the profile.

This makes it sound like he takes his job seriously... NOT!
Our own tax dollars used to spy on us by NSA nerds
But did he have a Klingon security chief behind him, and a sexy mind-slut sitting at his side?
When I was with INSCOM, it was run by adults.
When will the adults be in charge again?
Great place to read all that ... LOVEINT.
Agreed...the lack of respect for taxpayers’ money is simply amazing.
Beam me out of this.........

Are you calling ME a nerd?
i think he needs to either reimburse taxpayers or go to prison for theft.
govt employees think our tax dollars belong to them.
Never.
The adults are now creeping on 70 years old and libertarian.
Welcome to the Liberal Land of Insanity, ya think?
These people think they are kings. They fleece us and create little kingdoms to satisfy their wildest dreams. One hundred million dollar vacations for the President and his family, Star Trek sets to satisfy fantasies, special needs for their rides on jets (Pelosi), sixteen dollar muffins—on and on and on!
They all act like they are damn royalty! And now they want to treat congressional aides special— different than the citizens they burden with their crony bunk. They all line their pockets (or a family members) during or directly after holding office. Hell, half of them write books in office! Makee me SICK!
Most of our Generals go around hobnobbing at parties and such, clinking glasses with the ‘intellectuals’ (getting their creds for their books) and being just about anything but a good leader. Look at Petraeus and Gen. John Allen. It is sick. Our government is sick and corrupt!
I’m outraged...outraged....gah!
Eisenhower:
"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist."
To goldly blow.
I don’t see anybody up there on the Hill representing the taxpayer and trying to stop this nonsense. Where are the lawmakers trying to rein this in?
Nope, they spend like thieves and want to cut our military pay, military equipment— that of which is vital to our security as a nation. But check their foolish spending. Oh hell no.
When this country is overtaken and in ruins, they can show off this Star Trek room and shake their heads at the foolishness and excesses that brought about our downfall.
