But there is still a connection to poverty...this kind of poverty of the soul (hate and lust for power) eventually manifests as economic poverty as well. Hate can cost you plenty when you PO the wrong people. The lust for power can also PO the wrong people (or go askew unexpectedly), and cost plenty in terms of lost income. The miscreants tend to be poor because they are miscreants, not because they're some race.
Juan could have a point if he could get the whole "correlation != causation" thing straightened out, but he's 180 degrees out of phase.

Does that mean that blacks not living in poverty do not commit violent crimes?
What about other races living in poverty? Are they just as violent?
There is a much larger percentage of "whites" than blacks, which also means more whites live in poverty than blacks. That should also mean that white violence should be higher than black violence, which is not the case.
If POVERTY were the cause of violence, then violence should be equal among all ethnic groups according to their poverty. Since that's not the case, there must be another root cause.
