Top-seeded Serena Williams won her fifth U.S. Open championship and 17th Grand Slam title overall by beating No. 2 Victoria Azarenka 7-5, 6-7 (6), 6-1 in a windy final.
Sunday's match was the toughest test these two weeks for the No. 1-seeded Williams, who also beat Azarenka in three sets in last year's final.

She DOES look like a dude, and I bet most of the other female pros talk about it amongst themselves.
I HATE the sails they are using. Whatever happened to cloth sails that they would have to raise and lower during the race?

She made 3.6 million yesterday. Not bad money for a day’s worth. Of course she will only get about a million of it after all the taxes she will have to pay.

IMO from my 40 years of tennis I conclude there are lots of steroids being used in tennis these days.
The William sisters are IMO steroid enhanced. The muscle development is IMO UNUSUAL. They also both displayed the intermittent play in their career due to injuries that you would expect from steroid use. I believe that Martina was also very steroid enhanced, she was the mother of it in women’s tennis IMO.
Same for many on the men’s side. Probably Rafael Nadal based on his body and injuries.
That is a good pay day. And I don’t really care for tennis so more power to her.(pun)
Too bad.
Serena is the only one winning championships for America.
There are currently no male players even close to winning any titles.
