Ever since the US national team touched down in Costa Rica, locals, soccer fans, players, officials, mascots and even taxi drivers have been conspiring against Jurgen Klinsmann’s side.
Following the USA’s controversial 1-0 World Cup qualifying win in snowy Denver in March, the Ticos have been incredibly angry with US Soccer about the game being able to go ahead. Despite poor playing conditions and Costa Rica wanting the game to be abandoned, the CONCACAF official waved play on and Clint Dempsey‘s lone goal stood up as the US secured a crucial win.

However, it seems as though Costa Rica is bearing a grudge against the US. Big time. Just take a look below at these various reports from multiple US outlets down in Central America.
On arrival the USMNT were made to walk through the airport and a group of angry Costa Rica fans who hurled eggs at the team bus. They Nats were also rejected a practice field by three different facilities and were forced to find one on their own… at a dairy farm out in the sticks.
Plus there were no balls provided for the team practices and plenty other unpleasant acts have been going on since the US arrived.

Safe to say the crowd will be incredibly anti-American at the Estadio Nacional on Friday… but then again, what did you expect as Klinsmann’s all conquering Yanks roll into town? A nice warm handshake and a cordial ‘all the best, guys’ as the Hexagonal leaders aim to grab a win that could seal qualification…
Back to reality, the evidence is stacking up, as Costa Rican taxi drivers are apparently planning to blockade the USMNT’s route to the stadium in act of retaliation against the “SnowClasico” result back in March.
Several US journalist down in Central America are tweeting and keeping US soccer fans up to date as the rivalry between the two nations reaches fever pitch. Enjoy the game tonight from 10pm ET on BeIN Sport.
Here’s all of the video evidence so far…
Jurgen Klinsmann stays calm despite having a dancing cow behind him, with an air horn….
Omar Gonzalez gets the same treatment …
Keith Olbermann breaks everything down so far…
And finally, KICK TV shows you a behind the scenes look at what the US are up against in Costa Rica…
Meh-Hee-Co is losing.
Panama 0 0 Jamaica
75th minute like in the USA/Costa Rica game.
If Panama could nab that game, they’d definitely be in the picture too, I think that would even send Mexico into 5th place.
But if Panama won and didn’t draw, then they’d be a bit breathing down everyone else’s necks.
Costa Rica 3 USA 1 77th minute.
USA remaining games, host Mexico in Columbus Ohio, Sept. 10, this is so we get an American crowd more than if it were in Chicago or LA I would suppose.
In October, host Jamaica, at Panama.

Terrible performance by the US....The defense sucks.
For the record, we have 12 straight wins, so we come down to earth tonight, Costa Rica will have 14 points, a very comfortable position.
So, our 12 game win-streak will end.
But they are getting back into that bad habit of conceding early goals.....can’t have that.
I’m beginning to think Guzan might be better than Howard...certainly judging by Guzan’s performance so far this year in England.
so are we... 3 - 1, with less than 10 minutes to go...
Disgraceful.
Quite possibly we should be playing Guzan. Yes, I have heard that before. Maybe Howard had some weak moments.
It’s extra-time, I kind of wish Panama could pull this out. But maybe I shouldn’t think like that, these games will be ending at any time.
One of Honduras’ goals was very nice, their first win ever at Azteca in Mexico City.
Great...now Altidore is out against Mexico.
Total lack of discipline...Klinsi better read them the riot act.
Agree... Someone posted this at Big Soccer: “CONCACAF road wins are rare for a reason. A tie would have been a good result in CR. No excuses. CR finished chances, US didnt. Sucks but not cause for histrionics.”
How many teams from CONCACAF would qualify for the WC if they had to qualify from COMNEBOL (The South American Federation)....Maybe 1 at the most.
I hear ya! I dislike CONCACAF -— the refs, the dangerous & sub-standard away-games, the home-games that are filled with fans rooting against US.
