Monty Montoya got his layoff notice this week, effective end of season.
So where will Montoya go after this season?
Where will he go, good question. I remember when he started and wrecked everyone he got near... but he seemed to settle in.
He settled in, then didn’t exactly go anywhere. There’s worse, but he is mediocre at best.
Could it be the team? Jamie hasn’t been stellar this year either.
Scuttlebutt is he’s headed to one of Chipper’s seats in the new United SportsCar series.
Other rumors, Kyle Larson in the 42, Ryan Newman in the 29, Austin Dillon in a new 3 team.
Makes sense.
It surprised me that Dillon is going to be in the 14 for Tony this weekend. I guess there are no hard feelings between Tony and Richard. That’s good.
Yeah, I’m waiting for DirecTV to charge me more for the name change. 8^}
The good news for FS1 is that it will be taking over for the spot currently occupied by the Speed Network. If you can watch Speed now, you'll be able to watch FS1 when it launches and, one would assume, many providers would want to move the new network, now with a broader scope and wider appeal, to a better package with more viewers.
Unlike some other networks that have positioned themselves to challenge ESPN, Fox Sports 1 appears to have the best chance to do so. They have the carriage, live programming and resources to do very well. The network launches on August 17, 2013, just in time for the run up to the NFL and college football season. The first Pac-12 game on the network is a Thursday night game on August 29 as Utah State takes on Utah. The Cougs make their debut on the network on September 7 at USC with kick off at 7:30 pm.
For more information, Fox has provided an FAQ here.
With the increased availability of streaming things on the internet, I had gotten to where I wasn’t watching TV. I have been also pretty convicted for many years that I shouldn’t be supporting the media when they have been having an all out war on conservatism in this country. So, we have been TV free for 2 months, today, actually. I miss Nascar; I will miss the NFL and college football & basketball. But, I will adapt. I could probably sign up for some streaming of those sports.
Thanks for that news.
Thanks for the ping.
Streaming is the way to go these days. My 20 something son watches all of his favorite TV shows via streaming except for “Breaking Bad”. We record everything we watch. Never watch any news or talk programs. HGTV gets 1/3rd of our viewing and sports another 1/3rd.
Montoya has gone through more crew chiefs then anyone else I can think of. He’ll find something to do be it Formula 1 or?
Gonna be a beautiful weekend for a race. Mid 70s tomorrow and low 80s on Sunday. Its usually in the 90s in August here.
Race on in just a few hours. Wanted to make sure I didn’t miss the ping today!
It has been a lovely year. We warmed up on the Front Range in the last couple of days, but still just breaking the 90 degree mark. Another 90 degree day today, then should drop back into the 80s.
Oh, I almost forgot. JJ wrecked in practice. How much will he be hindered by having to use a backup car...
