He’s won three times before these games or two ?
Grateful for the pings !
Stay safe Troop !
Froning came in 2nd in 2010 (he couldn’t climb a rope worth a damn), then won in 2011 and 2012.
Annie not competing is a real bummer, but she’s on the mend and will definitely be hitting 2014 real hard. Hopefully Julie Foucher (last year’s 2nd place) will be out of medical school and able to compete again.
The 2009 Games Champion, Mikko Salo, was hurt in 2011 and 2012, but he was on his way back this year, then he just announced a few days ago that he was dropping out of the Games due to a torn abdominal muscle. That guy can’t buy a break.
There’s a lot of hype with Josh Bridges this year, too. He came in second in 2011, but he was hurt in 2012. The guy’s an animal, but I don’t see him taking down Froning. If the Regionals are any indicator (and I think they are), Froning will dominate this year, too.
For the women, Sam Briggs and Camille Leblanc-Bazinet are the ones to watch. There are some real stars in the women’s side of the competition, and it could be anyone’s title, but those two are the front-runners for sure.
