Congrats to Lefty on winning on a course which requires more luck than skill. The course had dead grass all over from wind and heat & lack of rain. They must have a lousy water sprinkler system. The Scotts are notorious for being cheap. I would’nt pay more than 10 dollars to play on such horrible looking and desolate golf course. It was impossible to control direction and length of roll anywhere. This is not golf. It is (skill+luck) combined.
I have played on Cog Hill #4, Royal Oaks, Waverly, Columbia Edgewater, Portland, Harbour Point, Dungeness, etc just to name a few, and each one is so beautiful.

Even after reading this thread and knowing Phill won the Open I had to watch the whole ESPN broadcast of this event! Phill was solid at the end on a very difficult course! Good for him!
Great win for Phil! Can someone explain to me why they play the Open on a golf course with so much dead grass?
I like to play this game in my bare feet but one course made me put shoes on and my game suffered as a result. Something about feeling the grass between my toes makes me hit the ball into the hole quicker but I guess some people don't like that.
