A woman has married a 600-year-old bridge in France.
Jodie Rose, an Australian artist, visited Le Pont du Diable as part of her 'Singing Bridges' project, recording the vibrations in bridge cables.
Explaining that she felt the world move under her feet while standing on the 14th Century structure, Rose wrote on her website: "The Devil's Bridge is everything I could desire in a husband - sturdy, trustworthy, sensual, kind and handsome.
"He understands that I love other bridges - and men. Ours is a love that embraces the vagaries of life, as materialised in the swirling currents of the river that flows beneath his magnificent body."
The ceremony took place at the mouth of the bridge, where the new Mrs Le Pont du Diable wore a wedding gown and held a small service for 14 close friends and local members of the community.
The French government does not legally recognize the marriage, but the bride has insisted that the union is as strong as any other.
"This is not a decision I undertake lightly, just as our curves complement, we truly bring joy to each other, and the strength of his pylons will always carry me home," Rose added.

“Where is that confounded bridge?”
Great. Next thing ya know, we’re on the hook for medical benefits and retirement for these damned bridges...
Marriage: man-woman, man-man, woman-woman, woman-bridge...
It’s a slippery slope, I tell ya...
Does the bridge now get benefits?
What’s next? I guess we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.
Not legal. That bridge is already married to a roundabout.
The question is: Can a 600 year old bridge still get it up?
If not, will Viagra help?
Can one buy that much?
If the bridge stays up for more than 4 hours, who do you call?
Will the wedding be covered on C-Span?
Even if they get divorced, the bridge will have to support her.
whats next.... threesome with an airport runway?
We're already on the hook. Have you seen how high bridge tolls are lately?
Sir, your input is requested...
That my friend, is a questionable proposition.
I’m sure that the Supreme Court will approve. Justice Kennedy will tell us that anyone who disapproves obviously hates bridges.
Eventually she will want to change him, then be dissatisfied with the progress.
ah the French........
She married it for the size of its deck.
Here comes the bridge,
From ridge to ridge,
Sturdy and solid, he won't move a smidge;
Arching and tall--
Makes you look small--
When you make love may you not hit a wall.
LOL!!! Good one!
