When I was a Girl Scout in the 1960’s, we stayed overnight in a shelter. We slept on bunk beds and ate soldier’s rations probably left over from Korea or WWII.
I went to grade school in DC and we did a lot of the ‘bend over’ or ‘run to the school basement’ drills. I had no idea people did them in other parts of the country until fairly recently.
