Friends, it's Sunday night again and time to relax. Warm up the tubes for another 4 hours of classic radio Americana.
*tonight's show will be available at the "Info" link starting tomorrow.
I've got to catch a later dinner in DC so I can't be around as much tonight. But will be listening in the car and posting from the smartphone.
How is everyone?
I went to AU with Ed in the ‘50’s. The program is fine; his and its politics are as left as one can get.
Welcome.

I’m surprised to hear that. Ed seems pretty level, and these shows are classic Americana.
Happy Sunday Gina. Was it a good week?
It’s been a busy week, and very hot! All is well, though.
How about you?
Things have been good. Roasting pork loin, boxing, beer...the sun is out.
I take it today was easier than last Sunday?
Well, that sounds really nice! Beer and barbecue—that’s hard to beat. We barbecued catfish last night, and it was primo. Today was not quite as rough as last Sunday, but we’re still busy with out-of-the-ordinary things.
We’re moving to a different house about 5 minutes away from where we are now, so that’s why we’ve been even busier this month than normal. Next weekend is “critical mass,” since we’re paid only through June 30th. I don’t know if our Internet will be up and running next Sunday or not. It’s supposed to be, but there has been some confusion on the transfer, dealing with these phone customer service people. We’ll see. If I’m not here next week, that’s probably the reason.
thanks for the heads up. So is this a good move?
Yes, it’s good, although there are things we will miss about this place, including our dear friend neighbors in several houses around us, and the wonderful covered porch with a little view of the water—we sit on it every evening. The new place is different, a little inland, but it’s much nicer and bigger.
it sounds great.
It really is, Vision. I could write you a long paper on our time here since Katrina and the bad elements that have developed on this street, our crummy landlord and the poor old house we live in, and this other place is really, really so much nicer, yet our hearts are still breaking at finally deciding to leave. The Lord has given us an amazing opportunity to move into a much nicer place, but we’re still sad to leave a million things here. Plus, we’re sad to have to move our cats. They’re already wondering what the heck “mom” and “dad” are doing emptying out their home these past couple of weeks—this place is an awesome place for the cats with the field and all. It will be interesting, to say the least.
Goodnight, Vision. I hope your week is a good one, and I hope to see you next Sunday, but if not, if the Lord is willing, we’ll be up the following week.
It’s change but it’s for the better.
I’ll tell you, you simply cannot have The Thin Man without Powell and Loy. Very disappointing.
Have a good night. Best of luck with the move, and hope to see you soon.
