Return it. Ford borrowed 5.9 billion from us in 2009.
Ford didnt file bankruptcy or get bailed out by Uncle Sam, but didnt it receive $5.9 billion in low-cost government loans in 2009 to overhaul its factories and bring out more fuel-efficient technology? What would have happened to Ford if Congress hadnt authorized taxpayer money to fund that $25 billion Energy Department program during a moment of crisis for the industry?
Ford credit was sucking on the tit too..

The honest truth is you really can’t buy a truck from any manufacturer that didn’t take, beg, or borrow our money.
I won’t buy any vehicles made by UAW workers.
Nice! You can NEVER go wrong with a Ford truck. I have owned f-150’s, f-250’s, and f-350’s. They have all been awesome.
Best air conditioners of all manufacturers
BTW I am in the same pickle. My 05 Chev is pushing 310,000 miles and it seems like everyday something new goes wrong with it. (I mean it is 200,000 miles past expected service life).. Ford is dragging their feet with the new Transit (not the little connect. it’s a replacement for the econoline) but the bail out/loans thing bugs me.
I’ll likely replace it with a Benz diesel van.
Nice truck.. My husband and my Dad always swore by Fords... they both used their trucks to work out of and hubby in particular use to load his truck down with pretty heavy loads and it took the abuse and came through. Paid the rent and put dinner on the table.
Very nice truck, Having been a Ford man all my life I really like the new styling, they got away from the rounded noses (97-02), and the little “duck tail” on the rear of the bed really makes it stand out, though the Raptors are the best looking truck I have ever seen off of the showroom. Wish I could trade mine in for one, until then I have to stick with my lifted ‘95 extended cab on 35’s in Bright Sapphire. Or “The Purp” as I call her. Well I have to put a new front clip on it first, I hit an elk doing 65mph and it only did body damage. Built Ford Tough!
Nice! My Dad has ALWAYS been a Ford F-150 man, as well as my two brothers, one of whom is a master mechanic. Love the trucks!
Nice looking.
Wife has the 2006 MarkLT, which is the Lincoln lipstick flavor of the F150. Replaced her aging Lincoln Continental with it. Once she drove it for a while, she’s upset I never got her a pickup before. She won’t drive anything else now.
Recommend changing the spark plugs around 70k miles vice 100k. After 80-95k miles, the carbon buildup around the base of the plugs is stronger than the ceramic plugs, resulting in the plug shearing in torsion when attempting to extract them. Results in a $1k-$5k spark plug change after retapping the block.
Other than that, after 2000, then 2004, invest in a diagnostics cable and reader so you can access the CPU yourself to determine your maintenance requirements. They can be purchased for about $100 and $70 for the cable. It’ll save a lot of maint labor costs.
They have a lot of nitnoid replacement part costs. e.g. if your gas cap door gets smacked, a small plastic pin breaks off, with the door falling off. Should be a $1 item to replace and reseat the door cover. Instead it is part of a $500 assembly, go figure.
Other than that, it’s a sweet ride.
I just rolled 442,000 miles on an ‘84 F150XLT Supercab (put in a rebuilt 302 at 72k) and still on the original tranny.
Only problem is after 30 years, the plastic parts are brittle and tough to replace. Hard to find mechanics who know how to tune a carburetor anymore. I was all GMC/Chevy before that.
PS, if you permanently mount a camper shell on the rear, you can have the pickup truck re-registered as a personal car vice a ‘commercial’ truck, reducing your annual CA registration from $260+ to $70 ballpark.
I own a 1969 Ford F-250 and I'll never get rid of hit. It's a short bed 3/4 ton with a 390ci. I love this truck.
Nice lawn.
Looks like mine.
Congrats!!!!! Nice truck!!!
My 2013 Explorer is simply the finest vehicle I have ever owned. It is a great driver...and the 25 MPG highway is great for a 4x4 SUV. Best of all, at 6’ 5”, 280 lbs....it has plenty of room for me.
We have a 1990 F150 that still runs great. We were looking at purchasing a new one a few years ago, but ended up getting a used 2008 F250 . We love them both.
Verrrry nice truck. I’m jealous. I want one reaaaly bad. I tow a 4000 lb. travel trailer and will upgrade to a bigger trailer in a few years, so I want the eco-boost V6.
I’m guessing you have the 5.0 ltre V8? Shoot, even that motor will tow 6-8 thousand lbs. properly equipped.
Nice truck! I’ve owned one Chevy truck, but never again!
