Anyone disagree? Or do you like 'singers' who forget lyrics and melody and attempt to make up both as they go along?

Sarah McLachlan

Ignore any interviews she gives where some of her cockeyed ideas come out, and just listen to her singing.

Simply the best set of pipes on the planet.

First off, I don't like the Star Spangled Banner as our national anthem despite who wrote it and where.

It's the hardest song to sing and there has been more controversy over the singing of this single song than any other and it's time to get rid of it.

"America the Beautiful" fulfills the same meaning for this country and there have been many wonderful renditions sung by talented vocalists who would be hard pressed to screw it up.

As a side note, I'm also an advocate to remove the Michigan state bird, the robin, as our state bird and replace it with the chickadee.........The robins head south for the winter while the chickadees stay here and keep us amused with their company.

LOL! I was taught by a wonderful high school music teacher the importance of enunciation and tremendously improved my ear for music, so I don’t like so-called professional singers that mangle any song. XD That said, aside from her political point of view, I’ve found Ms. McLachlan to be a very classy, professional performer/musician. “Sweet Surrender” is still one of my all time faves of hers.

My favorite version of the National Anthem is the one by Anna Case, which includes the first and fourth verses.
