I’m just going by the description of the film. Will Smith’s character says everything on Earth evolved to kill man. Sounds like the same idea as in The Happening - nature responds to man’s oppressive presence by killing him.

Doesn't nature know violence never solved anything?

From your description it sounds like a rip-off of Harry Harrison’s 1963 novel Deathworld.

Which leads me to believe this action flick takes place mostly on Earth (Not Nova Prime) after he and his son crash land back on Earth 1000 years after humans left. Correct? I mean...he says it's Earth.
