I remember seeing one of these brothers interviewed in front of his house when the women were missing, when a reporter asked him what he thinks about the search effort he said “It was a waste of taxpayer money.” Maybe these brothers had nothing to do with it but they are still scummy

I don't believe the brothers story. Sure, the police might not have found any 'evidence' to prove the brothers knew, especially since any DNA found in the house only proves they visited their brother.
But the idea that in all this time they NEVER knew seems preposterous. Especially since it appears that the neighbors knew and that there were at least two other men involved, according to neighbors.
