Another comment

““There’s no way I would have ever dreamed that this would have happened,” paramedic Bryce Reed told CNN’s “AC360°.”

“I mean, it’s profound and it’s dire, and it hurts like hell,” he said. “But, you know, the main thing we wanted to convey is that … please keep the prayers coming. Please keep the thoughts coming.”

When he responded to the scene, it left him speechless, Reed said.

“I can tell you there’s absolutely no words that I possess that can convey adequately what I saw,” he said.

“It went from my hometown and my reality and my existence to a war zone in an instant, and I haven’t even had time to process that yet.”

He lost some friends, all volunteer emergency workers, just like him.

“People who didn’t have to go to that blast, went to that blast,” he said. “People who could have stayed at home, they didn’t have to go. … they were all volunteers.””

At the big funeral, he was saying Cyrus was his brother. Yet he was no relation per Cyrus’s family. This guy’s stories vary everywhere I look.

“GOODWYN: The most moving moments of the memorial were the tributes from the families. Twenty-nine-year-old fireman Cyrus Reed died that day. In a quiet but steady voice, Bryce Reed told the story of his little brother taking cans of cheese into the backyard and shooting at them with a BB gun to instigate a spectacular display of flying whiz.

BRYCE REED: Picture, if you will, waking up, you know, in the morning to finding a 15-foot-diameter swath of compressed dairy products thrown all over the backyard, fence, chairs, windows and sometimes the dog.

(LAUGHTER)

REED: When confronted, a big grin would come across his face and he would giggle and then proceed to plead his case and say, you don’t understand; it was like 15 feet in the air and it spun and it was so cool.

(LAUGHTER)

REED: Yeah. And I’m going to miss that.

GOODWYN: To give a sense of 12 men’s lives to an arena full of mostly strangers takes a while, and the memorial lasted two and a half hours. But the gathered came away with a powerful and intimate understanding of just who and what had been lost on that terrible Wednesday evening at the fertilizer plant.

REED: In closing, I would like to say that Cyrus always hated the term hero. He and I shared the belief that heroes are persons who are etched in marble and that a hero is a sacred and solemn term reserved for only those who pay the ultimate price when others would falter or run. My brother would disagree, but I firmly believe that all privy to this incident can attest that my brother and all those who lay with him are heroes now and forever.”

why was he fired a few days after the explosion?
Why did he talk to the evacuees if he was no longer ems?
What was ailing him that he was so sick

“WEST, Texas — Three days after a massive explosion at a Texas fertilizer plant, Bryce Reed climbed onto a coffee table at a local hotel where displaced families picked over donated sweatshirts and pizza. Wearing a navy blue shirt emblazoned with “West EMS,” he gathered the crowd close.

“You’re safe where you’re at,” said Reed, describing an anhydrous ammonia leak inside the rubble at the West Fertilizer Co. plant. “If you’re not, I’d be dragging you out of here myself.”

Hearty applause echoed in the lobby when Reed stepped down. But no one had asked Reed to come, and in a town swarming with federal and state investigators – who had handled all the official briefings and tightly controlled updates – a local volunteer paramedic was now talking about seeping tanks at the blast site.”

And

“In an interview outside the Czech Inn on April 21, Reed talked about being sick and facing his own mortality. He said lost 60 pounds in five months, and that doctors couldn’t pinpoint the source of his ailing stomach despite performing 26 biopsies.”

Some mod must not have liked this story much. They chunked it completely out of the news section into oblivion.

There is way too much speculation in this story, and the Feds and the media are primed to find someone to blame. Everyone needs to wait for the facts here—and a good place to start would be for the authorities to release what it was that Reed had in his possession that led to his being held on nebulous charges in the first place. This whole situation stinks. Look at the videos of the initial phase of the explosion. Some very strange things going on here.

I recently came into possession of a several pounds of high explosives. I immediately put it to work in my neighborhood.

While shopping for spring flora, I decided to try a natural fertilizer for my garden plants. I saw a natural one without a nasty smell, it was based on chicken poop.

I read the ingredients and saw that it contained an extremely high percentage of ammonium nitrate. If someone were to mix that with diesel fuel or some such it would make a powerful bomb!

So I had a bomb component.
I don’t have any pipe though, so I guess it would be all right?

Anyway, the chicken poop was immediately put to use in my garden and among the flowers in front of my house on the street and now I don’t have any more.

Whew!

I hope not...

It was pelletized fertilizer and looked like rabbit food. I flung it about in small amounts all over my flower beds, my shrubs and near the street where I have hemerocallis, calluna vulgaris, forget-me-nots and all manner of flora...

It is raining today, so in a week or so I’ll know if I turned my yard into Hiroshima 1945 or not.

I came to the conclusion back then that Harry Truman should have dropped about 45 kilotons of sheep poop on Japan and decimated it.

LMAO
I hope this chicken poop fertilizer is not so destructive. I guess I'm about to find out... two days of rain is forecast, so it should be diluted enough... I hope.

:)

Nebulous charges?

They have listed the materials he gave to ‘a friend’

There are the misstatements he made reharding his ‘brother’ Cyrus Reed’

His wife had a vid of their daughter playing with Cyrus Reed on herr phone, but the sister says there were no links between Her brother and this man on the phone or computer.

The news stories that he gave of his actions are varying on the dayof the explosion.

He specificLly mentions that he made sure Cyrus Reed was on the scene befre the explosion happened.

He was fred for unknown reasons from EMT 2 days after the event.

Indeed so.

Although your Ammonium nitrate may have been to dilute to make a good bomb. After Ok city, a bomb expert I knew said diluting the Ammonium Nitrate by about 5% would have greatly reduced the blast capacity.

But yes, you mix it with 6% diesel fuel or other organic and you have ANFO. ANFO being a very common explosive because it is cheap and very stabe.

I have no use for ANFO, but I do buy fertilizer every year for my garden. I think this bag was only something like 59% Ammonium Nitrate, so probably not good for much more than making my garden green.

I don’t even like lighting firecrackers anymore, so no fiddling with the chicken poop for me!

:)
