It's those pesky freedom loving people. They are harder to herd than catz. ;)

I found it with a torrent search, about 5mB.

United States government claims control of the information.

Lol! Good luck with that, bit torrents are popping up like dandelions

Those clowns are a joke.  They're fartin' to stop a windstorm.

Anyway, until I get my own 3D printer, what kind of opensource cad programs are there available to check out the files?

Good question. The files have a .stl extension. Clicking on them gets some message about certificate error.

I’ll never need them. However, “just in case”... ;-)

I’m no lawyer and I’ve not checked but...there’s a thing called ITAR (International Trafficking & Arms Regulation). This isn’t restricted to just physical weapons but the intellectual property (software, designs, etc.). So possibly something along those lines (ITAR violation).

I’m not saying it justifies them being shut down, this will need to get sorted out.

files have a .stl extension.

a few listed in the 4.2 mega pack are .dwg files, standard autocad.

Saw that, but the Liberator files are all .stl. Prolly proprietary to the printer used.

Senator Schumer already has a bill written to outlaw a gun made by that process. Seriously, he’s already talking about how bad it is with even a picture of the thing and has a bill to shut that down.

Standard STereoLithography files. The format was originated by a company, but lots of programs use it now.

Yeah, a light bulb went on a while ago. Suspect a newer version of Solidworks may handle those files.

Solid modeling was never something I invested the time in, but I might now that I be a retired olde farte with the leisure to fool about..........

They can claim that is going to other counties, so that might be it.

I just signed up with a new account, but it says I’m to new to use the private reply feature. I was going to request the liberator download.

“Oh well. The package I have is very robust and contains all I’ll ever need...if I am ever properly motivated to use it.”

I see it the same. Got the Liberator file yesterday, and am pulling down the latest mega pack now. TPB torrents FTW.
