Funny you mention that. I felt, as a child, that TV commercials were for everybody else and have carried that thinking forwar for all of my 59 years. I always feel like I am a spectator of our culture and not really a part of it.
It was seriously amplified when I became a Christian in 1981.
In the world but not of it.
