It is the man, not the gun, that is capable of committing acts of evil.

That was the message Glenn Beck conveyed throughout his highly anticipated keynote speech at the 2013 NRA Convention on Saturday. He made that case using storied antique firearms as he taught America’s captivating history through guns. Make no mistake, the history behind some of the guns Beck handled on stage will blow you away.

As a side-question, did FoxNews ever bother to cover much of the NRA convention? From what I did see on Friday, it looked like CNN was devoting ten times as much coverage to it (with their expected sour-faced slant, naturally).

Wasn’t sure, but it just seemed to again give off the impression that FoxNews continues to avoid and sideline the whole grassroots/tea-party/mid-American/conservative activism side-of-things, while concentrating entirely on giving voice to the Rove-beltway/GOP-establishment side of the political world.

You’re surprised? I haven’t been impressed with Fox for a long while now.

That's why we need The Blaze, to pull Fox to the right (or leave them in the dust).

The great news is that The Blaze was just picked up by the NYC cable provider, and is now available in the premium package (per Glenn's radio show).

It would be great to see The Blaze make Fox sweat.

There are quite a few firearms stories in American history like in the 1840’s when anti-Catholic mobs burned churches and convents to the ground in the Boston and Philly areas.

In New York City the churches were spared the flames because Bishop Hughes ordered Catholics with guns to protect them.

Oh, no. I’m not surprised. I saw this trend in FoxNews big-time over the past two to three years (coinciding with Rove’s ascension). In fact, it’s the primary reason I all but stopped watching the network, as it seemed to be morphing into nothing more than a beltway-centric propaganda tool for the GOP-establishment crowd. But I did tune in a fair bit on Friday, curious about how the NRA convention was going. Only to find virtually nothing.

And if Obama guard dog Beck hadn’t discouraged the nation from continuing to pull at lose threads concerning Obama’s constitutonal qualifications to be president when Beck had his Fx News show, then perhaps Beck wouldn’t be concerned about protecting gun rights at this time.
