A 42-year-old actor who claimed she lost out on movie roles after the Internet Movie Database published her real age has lost a landmark lawsuit against the website.
Texan Huong "Junie" Hoang had been backed by US acting unions in her bid to sue IMDb for breach of contract after the site used credit information and a third-party verification website to research her true age for its "Pro" subscription site, which is used extensively by Hollywood agents. A Seattle jury found yesterday that the Amazon-owned website had not breached any legal obligations to Hoang following a two-day trial.

Never heard or saw her before. Maybe in the types of “movies” she appears, 42 is too old?

Normally I would say "Stupid lawsuit. Throw it out and fine both her and her lawyers" but since this was allegedly a breach of contract between her and IMDB, I would have to look at the contract to see whether they agreed to take her word on her age or could publish other information.
Upon reading the article, it looks like she left off her age and IMDB just filled it in with accurate information. No mention was made of the contract terms on whether they could do that. Since she's not a major actor, I would assume that they gave her a boilerplate contract and wouldn't have negotiated anything special for her, so I doubt it had any secrecy terms in it to protect her.

It is a double-edge sword situation - asian women are the most likely to be able to play younger than their age. This is a big deal in films. So to have her actual age broadcast like that is a career-limiting issue.
But once it got out she had only the slimmest of chances of trying to get that genie back in the bottle. She's pretty and in great shape. Too bad hollywood is the most ageist entity of all.

She will have to switch to baby momma roles now. Her days as a young hot temptress are numbered, no matter what she says her age is. Mother nature gets everyone sooner or later.

If they lied it would be different...She's supposed to be truthful. She "hid" information with intention to deceive
aka lying

This woman is not an “actor”. She is an ACTRESS.

So, instead of her role in “Exotic Dancers of Houston”, she could only get a role in “Exotic Older Women who Hobble in Houston”?

Wow, this is one the dumbest damn lawsuits I’ve ever heard of.
Isn’t age a matter of public record?

She is very pretty and has kept herself in nice shape but her neck says she is older then her face.
There are two places that say how old you are, one is your neck, the other is your hands.

In a way, she has a good point.
If they don’t get her age straightened out she may not be able to run for President.
Next thing you know someone with questionable birth certificates, SS #’s, that draws/drew college monies as a non citizen may actually run for President.
Can’t allow that to happen enough stupid people may get together and vote him in with the only good thing is they would surely turn him out once all this BS was revealed.
Wouldn’t they?
BTW this young lady looks pretty ‘hot’ in my book.
