If necessary to bring back manufacturing, use the tax code to inject reason to the system.

There is good ways to do this and bad. Using the tax code to penalize imports (thus making goods and services more expensive) will do nothing but continue to harm domestic production.

However, reducing taxes and regulations- the things that make it difficult to do business in the US at a reasonable cost structure, is what is needed.

When it gets down to it though, it has a lot to do with us. What are we choosing to buy? I am just as guilty as the rest in not looking where something is made before I buy it. I just decided to glance at the shirt I was ironing for today, and what should be the American of American brands, Ralph Lauren, was made in Hong Kong.

I know people have been saying Buy USA for a long time but how many people really do it?

The last we thing we need is to “bring them back” Solyndra style.

The 60's radicals who have taken over our government might be willing to make Faustian bargains with multi-nationals to maintain their political power, but they sure as hell don't want the likes of us starting any successful new companies. Republicans don't seem to think it's safe, either - they like the degree of control existing regulations give them over upstart competitors to their loyal contributors.

Not many.

The problem is, for a long time America was the place everything was made.

So several generations of Americans are just accustomed to things being made in America.

Left. Right. Everyone just presumes, things are made in America.

That is no longer the case. Every country in the world (except America) grows their own industry.

We export jobs as quickly as we can sign the assets away, and fire millions of Americans who then go on welfare.

Welfare is up BIGTIME. Not just because democrats are in charge either. Welfare is up bigtime because the number of jobs in America is constantly SHRINKING.

We as a party are partly responsible for that.

I was formerly very much for “free trade” because I was naive about how it would be implemented. The problem I now see is, it has all been about exporting American jobs.

Now that China has become the world’s leader in exports, I take back my previous support for this policy.

I now am 100% in favor of bringing back American jobs.

If Republicans get with this program now and lead the charge, we will win.

That is, in my view, a BIG “if”.

Stop sleeping GOP.

Bring back US jobs, and restructure our tax code now.
