The time has come for a new approach.

China is becoming bigger strategically than America.

This is increasing. We are shrinking.

The end result of this will mean, all else being the same: China takes over the world.

Now I'm not saying that will happen.

But I'm no longer, pretending it away. China is growing larger than America. Right now.

Get with the program. Stop sending American jobs to China, and bring back those which have been sent.

If necessary to bring back manufacturing, use the tax code to inject reason to the system.

Thanks for your thoughts.

:D

If necessary to bring back manufacturing, use the tax code to inject reason to the system.

There is good ways to do this and bad. Using the tax code to penalize imports (thus making goods and services more expensive) will do nothing but continue to harm domestic production.

However, reducing taxes and regulations- the things that make it difficult to do business in the US at a reasonable cost structure, is what is needed.

When it gets down to it though, it has a lot to do with us. What are we choosing to buy? I am just as guilty as the rest in not looking where something is made before I buy it. I just decided to glance at the shirt I was ironing for today, and what should be the American of American brands, Ralph Lauren, was made in Hong Kong.

I know people have been saying Buy USA for a long time but how many people really do it?

And just how to you intend to change the global economy?

While you are at it, lower the oceans by building a sand castle on a beach somewhere...

What is most interesting is that this most obvious and needful of things is never mentioned in the news. Front page stories about the far more important issues of gay marriage and the evils of guns crowd out less important thing like the fact that jobs a becoming nonexistent for so many Americans.

Your right, lack of Jobs is a major problem in this country.

The fact that people can also live for years off of welfare and all the various helper programs is also a major problem.

One breeds despair, the other irresponsible behavior and those lucky enough to have jobs get to pay for it all.

I doubt those jobs will come back as long as unions have a stranglehold on the economy here. Why would any company pay $20 an hour to an employee here when the same job can be done in other countries for mere pennies an hour? And then there are the Cadillac health care plans and pensions funded by these companies. Companies don't have to pay for those in most other countries.

And them there is all that micromanagement by government. Rules and regulations that are impossible to comply with and cost a fortune to implement. No EPA in other countries.

Plus I'm sure Obamacare will also kill jobs here or send them overseas.

If the unions weren't so greedy and government would get out of the way, business would thrive and there would be jobs.

Those jobs are gone and are not coming back for many of the reasons listed by others before me.

It would be great if they come back, but they won’t.

America is in a different place than it was in 1950. We are not the dominant power we were back then. Things change.

Thanks for calling attention to this disgrace. About everything you buy is made with jobs exported from America. Economic patriotism is as important as military patriotism. Putting money before country is to be condemned when unemployment is so extended. We are not oneworlders, we are Americans.

Start by lowering the corporate tax rate. The economic illiterate marxist Soetoro won't have any of that though.

The reality is this. 536 men and women in DC have much, much, much more to do with what’s happening in this country than one billion people in China. Our government, with their policies since Clinton have destroyed our credit markets and are now working on destroying the retirement funds of American citizens. Obamacare is far more responsible for job loss/non job creation than China. Capital follows its’ best use and that ain’t America. Regulation and taxation are holding back investment terribly. That’s why, even though I wasn’t a big supporter, I had to support Romney. He understood this, certainly, far better than Clown McCain. I truly believe that Obama is purposely implementing policies to disincentivize investment.
