A Wilton Manors woman got painkillers for herself by forging prescriptions for her dead dog, deputies said.

Suzanne Lee Kraus, 41, stole a veterinarian's prescription sheets from the Floresta Animal Hospital in Boynton Beach, where she worked from September 2010 to September 2012, according to a Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office arrest report.

Kraus used the sheets – stolen from Floresta's vet, Dr. Jean Burns – to obtain 240 Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen pills between July and November 2012, deputies said.

That’s nothing. Wait’ll people start collecting their dog’s social security benefits long after it dies.

And don’t even get me started on cats!

Not even a medication that dogs can take. It’s toxic to them.

Thank you for reminding me how bad my brother screwed with my head by giving me Sgt. Pepper when I was little as a birthday gift...

What vet gives out Vicodin? I've had many animals that needed surgery and if they gave you pain killers, it was always tramdol and tramadol is useless in humans (at least it was for this human, thanks Doc) as a pain killer and there is no high either.

This is from Florida? I thought Florida was the capital of the easy to get drugs from real (debatable) Drs. I always assumed they just gave out stacks of signed prescriptions without regard for their licenses and you filled out what you wanted.

Hi Dr. Nic.

Am sensing defense strategy. She actually gave the medication to the dog.

You know, you’re right, acetaminophen is toxic to human livers and in animals it’s a death sentence, at least for cats and dogs. It’s a slightly longer death sentence in humans if you take enough of it.

Maybe she was considerate of that and only stole 7.5/300’s.

I’m pretty sure someone who is willing to forge a prescription would go for the Norco 10/325 or roll the dice and try to get oxycodone but then maybe she’s a slightly smarter drug user, then again, maybe not.

It’s not a drug of choice but dogs can take acetaminophen if carefully dosed.

Maybe her plan would’ve worked if the dog wasn’t dead? Someone must’ve scratched her dog’s name of the voter rolls.

I see what you are up to. You are tweaking democRATs. Those democRATs paying attention are gonna go check the rolls to make sure that dog votes.

A buddy of mine started taking his dog’s prescription medicine. He ended up in the hospital. He broke his neck trying to lick his own balls.
