RE: “Islamophobia.” A “phobia” is defined as an “unthinking,” or “irrational” fear. here is nothing irrational about fearing Islamists. It’s justified by facts on the ground.

John L Esposito’s crush on Islam reminds me of Charles Lindberg’s affection for national Socialist Germany. The difference is that the’Lone Eagle’ really was a remarkable man who, without so much as completing college, distinguished himself in several scientific disciplines and also may have shot down enough Japanese aircraft (while flying as a civilian specialist for Lockheed Aircraft) to be close to being an ace. Why are they complaining about Islamophobia? If people are afraid of them isn't that what they wanted?

They go to all the trouble of blowing themselves up and numerous acts of mayhem and murder in accordance with their own book and then complain when they got what they wanted?

Maybe the phobia part is what is bothering them. A phobia is an irrational fear, but if its a rational fear which they have well earned, then maybe that's why they are mad, they are not being given the credit they want!
