Computer M-5 states: "Murder is contrary to the laws of man and God"
Spock rules that "Sun worship is usually a primitive superstition religion", whereupon Uhura corrects him: "Don't you understand? It's not the sun up in the sky. It's the Son of God."
"In His hands are the deep places of the Earth. Psalm 95, verse 4."
Kirk says: "Scotty doesn't believe in gods" and also "Man has no need for gods. We find the one quite sufficient".
looks like none of the ‘verses have islam.
especially like BABYLON 5 and taoism. wonder what FARSCAPE would be>
Totally agree. The characters on Enterprise actually behaved like the rest of us flawed humans, faced personal demons, etc. I've enjoyed each series as excellent escapism but Enterprise, for me, was by far the most realistic.
Indeed. I did not watch it at first run but watched after it was cancelled. DVR is a wonderful thing.
That series kicked arse. Better than the rest. The episode "In a Mirror, Darkly" from Season 4 was the very best Star Trek I have ever seen.
Voyager should have stayed lost
OK. Thanks for the info.
Elizabeth was not very nice to do that.
Nietzsche, as something of a bridge between nihilism and existentialism is plenty distasteful enough to many, but he should be criticized for what he actually wrote, less so than what other critics might say about him.
I read just about everything he wrote while a college student (decades ago), and Nietzsche as a Nazi meme has about the same truth to it as does, say, GWB hates black people.
Sorry if I was a bit short in my reponse - I mean this was a funny thread after all.
Well, I appreciate that. When one is told something all their life, as I was about the “Superman/Ubermensch” connection, it becomes ingrained.
And, of course, you DO realize my “Superman” analysis IS Satire...
Well done Grace, LOL.
What does that make the new movies?
Kabala.
Yup, sure did. And I found the whole thread pretty funny.
Sorry for being the buzzkill.
