Was his girlfriend’s name Friday or Eliza? The writer has gotten me confused...

22 years for murder. Not enough.

Pretty soon it’ll just be a walk on the boulevard picking up trash.

No one believes me when I say Brazilians (who speak Portuguese) are just awful people individually. We have a family from Brazil as neighbors. They were amnestied through the 1986 Simpson-Mazzoli Immigration Act, out of California. The husband after being in this country for over 20 years still can’t be bothered to learn acceptable English, and the wife is a pure witch. They make my life a living hell. They have encroached on our property to widen their driveway, have cut limbs off our trees without asking for permission, have deliberately and in anger thrown discarded oil cans on the property, leave ladders on their driveway enabling anyone who comes by and has trespassing over privacy fences as a goal to succeed, have carelessly and without remorse cut our internet, TV, and phone cables while trying to install sod for a neighbor on the other side of us, and then threatened to sue me because I got angry at the husband for not letting us know he had cut the cable! My anger was highly offensive to them. (The utility in its best politically correct policy, did not charge the miscreant landscaper one cent for reconnect fees even though we were told it can cost the party who broke the line as much as one thousand dollars.) Their daughter (with a baby and no husband) has made it clear she thinks she is entitled to our property and that we really are illegitimate owners. I have read of other Americans who have had experiences similar to ours with respect to people from Brazil. Ironically that country has a lot to offer. Their music is spectacular (Brazil 66, Antonio Carlos-Jobim) Aquarelo Do Brazil is a fantastic song which is the unofficial anthem of the country. And in the 60’s they exported that wonderful Bossa Nova beat. And of course there is the Carnival in Rio. And the coffee. And the hopes and aspirations of the city of Brazilia. Something about the Germanic-Hispanic mix doesn’t sit right. What a colossal disconnect. And yes I have seen the tin-can shanty towns in Brazil. One would think these people would be eternally grateful for their good fortune to be in America, instead they act like angry hateful bastards.
