Joe Paterno's widow to appear on Katie Couric's talk show

Joe Paterno's widow is to give her first interview since the Jerry Sandusky scandal and her husband's subsequent death, appearing on Katie Couric's daytime talk show in an episode scheduled to air Monday.

Sue Paterno, who was married to the legendary Penn State football coach for 50 years, is scheduled to talk with Couric in studio for the nationally syndicated show "Katie." The two have already gotten together at Paterno's home in State College, Pa.

Joe Paterno was head coach of the Nittany Lions for almost as long as he was married, from 1966 into 2011. He led the team to two national titles and 409 victories, which was a major-college record until 111 of those wins were voided by the NCAA as part of the fallout from the Sandusky child sexual abuse scandal.

Paterno was fired by the school in the days after the scandal broke in late 2011. He died from lung cancer in January 2012. His on-campus statue was removed last July, days after he and three other former school officials were accused by former FBI director Louis Freeh, who headed the school's investigation into the scandal, of covering up allegations against Sandusky.

Many Penn State faithful, including members of Paterno's family, feel that the former coach's role in the scandal has been overblown.

Sue Paterno's chat will be Couric's second big sports-related interview in recent weeks. Late last month, she talked with former Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o in his first comments since revealing that his supposed late girlfriend actually never existed.

Sandusky was found not guilty of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse

You do understand that "involuntary deviate sexual intercourse" was the most serious charge.

You do understand that "involuntary deviate sexual intercourse" is what Paterno is accused of having permitted by not reporting the Victim #2 incident beyond the chain of command.

You do understand "involuntary deviate sexual intercourse" of Victim #2 was only 1 of only 3 of the 48 charges against Sandusky for which he was acquitted. And Victim #2 has still not come forward.

So then what is your problem???

In the case of unknown Victim 2, the victim identified by Mike McQueary, Sandusky was found not guilty of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, but guilty of indecent assault, unlawful contact with minors and endangering the welfare of a child with regard to victim

Why are you excusing and dismissing indecent assault, unlawful contact and endangering the welfare of a child? If it were your child that was victimized by a serial predator, would you be so flippant? You really are disgusting!

Sandusky was found not guilty on the McQueary “rape” allegation.

Mike McQueary got the date of the shower episode wrong by over a year and it was not, as the prosecution originally made a huge deal out of, the “Friday night before Spring Break.”

Jerry Sandusky was source of the correct date for the McQueary shower episode.

The McQueary event took place almost ten years before there was testimony about it.

The victim in the McQueary episode (#2) was interviewed after the indictment by a former FBI investigator and unequivocally denied McQueary’s story.

Sandusky left voice messages for Victim 2 during the Grand Jury investigation indicating that he should come forward to tell his story, but the prosecution never called him in any proceeding and now claims he doesn’t even exist.

It appears that McQueary played in Second Mile golf events after episode.

After the story broke, McQueary made up absurd stories to his friends about going after Victim 2, in contradiction of his own testimony.

The grand jury presentment, in a very unusual move, declared McQueary to be “highly credible,” even though he apparently never testified in front of the Grand Jury panel which actually voted to indict. It will eventually become clear that there are many things about McQueary which make that pronouncement particularly absurd.

McQueary has never testified that he told a specific person he saw sex of any kind and Dr. Dranov, a mandated reporter for child sex abuse, never reported what Mike told him the night of the episode.

Sandusky was found not guilty on the McQueary “rape” allegation.

Yeah, what a great guy. How about this: A graduate student waited a day after allegedly seeing a child being sexually assaulted on Penn State’s campus before telling his supervisor, football coach Joe Paterno. Paterno waited another day before calling the university’s athletic director, who looped in a school vice president.

“It was a Saturday morning and I didn’t want to interfere with their weekends,” Paterno told a grand jury this year, recalling the unusual visit from graduate assistant Mike McQueary.

McQueary said he had seen former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky doing something “extremely sexual” with a young boy in a locker room shower.

On Friday, McQueary testified at a preliminary hearing for two Penn State officials — athletic director Tim Curley and vice president Gary Schultz — accused of covering up the story. He offered the most detailed public account yet of the child sex abuse allegations that have upended the university’s football program and the entire central Pennsylvania campus.

Curley and Schultz are headed to trial on perjury charges after Friday’s preliminary hearing, accused of lying to a grand jury about what McQueary told them.

Yeah, what a great and wonderful guy. He should have been in prison jammies with Sandusky.

No Way! Go away troll. Seriously Penn state did the right thing. The guy who is jail is the right person. God Bless Penn State! Already you can see the love for Penn State coming back quickly. I didn’t think it would happen as fast as it is, but I sure as heck glad it is. Penn State was severly screwed for ZERO reason.
