When a person makes a public statement while representing the company they work for, the company is free is issue consequences.
That is actaully a very valid point - and the right of employers is just part of property rights. And Culliver was on “company time” and speaking as part of a “company function.”
What makes this one so offensive is that we know “the company” - the NFL - is being intimidated by Omerica.
But not too long ago this man's comments wouldn't have warranted such a hypersensitive response by the company.
Soon everyone will be afraid to publicly express any sentiment that is at odds with acceptable norms, no matter how trivial or innocuous.
That is my point.
When a person makes a public statement while representing the company they work for, the company is free is issue consequences.
