.22 LR the new gold standard?
vanity

Posted on 01/29/2013 4:44:13 PM PST by hadaclueonce

.22 LR ammo is on back order at all wholesellers. Who is buying it up?

Oil speculators?

Late to come to the party preppers?

The Feds?

Price on the secondary market has gone up 5 times here in Texas.

I have no problem with the Ruger brand metal heads. Do not try using the plastic heads

“Yep. — Perhaps that’s the reason that suppressors are regulated by the BATFE.”

No, the reason is for the 200 bucks and they are a$$holes...

Anyone come across a high-cap mag for a 10/22 that actually works?

The Demolsheviks solved that one for you. The standard magazine is now a "high-cap" magazine.

I love the 6.5x55. I’ve been lucky enough to put back about 500 rounds at less than $10 a box.

Nice of you to tell big siss what you have.

Most people are starting to get the point that if you are planning on hiding it, you are missing the point of having it.

If the Ruger BX-25 isn’t working for you, try a Tactical Innovations TI-40. It comes with adjustable screws that let you tweak the fit. I picked one up at a local gun show a few weeks ago and it seems to work well enough.

They’re still available for $40 a pop over at rimfiresports.com.

Well, if you can’t shoot ‘em once with a .44 shoot ‘em twice with a .22...

“...but I stocked up on .22lr ammo and accessories as soon as I realized obama was put in office in 2008.”

You did good. I stocked up for my 38s and other rifle and shotgun, but not the 22s since I didn’t have that rifle.

The only thing I was an expert at, was, searching the net every single day until I found the rifle and some ammo. and now hopefully I have found more. I put all the gun companies in the same place as “Favorites” and clicked every company every day.

I decided I needed the 22 rifle but didn’t know the whole country would decide they needed that one, too. It has been crazy.

Ah...that’s the TI-25, not the TI-40. Wishful thinking on my part, I guess!

The Remington Nylon 66 was a great gun. Had one when I was a kid. Shot thousands of rounds, never cleaned it once, and it just kept going.

I don’t really get it either. It disappeared off the shelves the first time 0bama got elected too. I stocked up on some after that, but still wish I had more. Found out I had a couple of rifles that liked a certain brand, which was already somewhat difficult to find.

I saw 10000 rounds of 223 at A and C Firearms in Heidenheimer yesterday. 254-983-4417 He will sell you all you want. I can’t locate 22 rimfire anywhere.

Back when Clinton pulled his liberal stunt, I feared the writing was on the wall. I sold all of my Russian weapons, got rid of the .380s and 9mm that I had and focused upon the M1911.45 pistols and one .22 Kimber conversion kit, M1A Rifles and ammo, and the M-1,O3’, M1917 .306 rifles. I have a military .22 in ‘03 Springfield configuration and a .308 Police Model 700 sniper. I have a comfortable amount of ammo that I can barter or sell if the SHTF. I also picked up several .30-40 rifles that were “curios” and in excellent working order and that I purchased without registration. I figure in a combat situation I'll be picked off before I can expend 100 rounds if they come after me in numbers. A person could see this gun control effort by liberals, communists and Democrats fifteen years ago.

Czech .22 sniper rifles used by the NVA in Cambodia caused more than a little confusion as it was almost impossible to place the report.

The subsonic ammo is even better.

When things go sideways .22 LR ammo will be a popular medium of exchange.

I just got three Battledyne Mags in the mail yesterday. (Ordered on Dec 31.) Only put about 100 cci mini mags through them and they worked fine so far. They've received favorable reviews at rimfirecentral.com. As the others mentioned, the Ruger BX 25 and the Tactical Inc mags are excellent if you can find them.
