Would really like to know which site to subscribe to for getting the inside scoop on a certain person. This person really needs looking into. Thanks ahead of time for any insights!

Crap.

See ya.

Run to the hills...

Does your state Department of Correction have an offender search? That should be free.

If you have a s/s # a reputable private detective can get help.

Sheriff Joe already checked and he couldn’t find the BC either.

Send a note to NYCOP. He might be able to help.

Bada Bing! I knew that was coming; either that or a Susan Daniels recommendation. Nice zing!

Info may not appear in state, may be in other states.

Haven’t any of you freepers out there ever used spokeo or other such sites? Do any of you have personal experience to share? Are they all worthless?

No personal experience but this site appears to have some fairly comprehensive info.

There was a thread about this a few days ago. The recommendations were that these sites that say that they can do a search are just money-grabbers and shouldn’t be trusted and don’t waste your money.

Be careful - there are several good sites, our church subscribes to one for checking volunteers. But every one I am familiar with requires you to have a “legitimate” reason for the information - such as a prospective employer (within certain descriptions), ministry (like we are), and other “need-to-know” type purposes.

Indeed, there are some pretty stern warnings regarding obtaining said info without good reason (or a written authorization from the person).

So yes - legally, and to avoid other “issues”, a P.I. might be the avenue to take.

Federal Bureau of Prisons

They have an inmate locator, that also shows date of release.

You can test it with "Rod Blagojevich"
