I posted this a year ago and I think it's time again. It's written and performed by a friend of mine and I believe it has far more meaning now than it did then.
Well worth the time to listen to. Thanks.
I must have missed it the first time around.
Sent it to my "Patriot List" so that, instead of listening to an American Zero (Obama), they could listen to an American Hero (the American Rifle).
And if resolve needs hardening after that, I will offer the following, read here some time ago:
Oh Lord,
I would live my life in freedom, peace and happiness, enjoying the simple pleasures of hearth and home.
I would die an old, old man in my own bed, preferably of sexual overexertion.
But if that is not to be, Lord, if monsters such as this should find their way to my little corner of the world on my watch, then help me to sweep those bastards from the ramparts, because doing that is good, and right, and just.
And if in this I should fall, let me be found atop a pile of brass, behind the wall I made of their corpses.
The Rifleman's Prayer
“Freedom only lives where good men take a stand.” Excellent song......thanks for posting it.
Amen.
Been there once.
Might need to be there, again.
God what an awesome song. I loved it when I heard it and can’t stop listening especially now that the lines are now being drawn on the sang.
I finally got Tommy’s CD a few months ago and have shared it with many. Thanks for turning me onto this Dusty!
Your more than welcome, he just made a deal with the NRA on American Rifle.

Don’t Come For My Gun
You can come for my contribution, you can come for my advice
I’ll tell you all I’m thinkin, don’t make me tell you twice
You can come round askin for my vote, just tell me why you run
but don’t come for my gun...
You can come for my tax money, you know I’ll do my share
Clothe and feed the hungry, don’t tell me I don’t care
You can come for my paycheck, I’ll give all I can, then some
but don’t come for my gun...
Somebody wise once told me that the measure of a man
Is made in times of trouble when the hour is at hand
And the fathers of our fathers tried to tell us to watch close
It’s people placed in power that they meant to mind the most
So you can come for my freedom, should I harm another man
Make me serve my sentence, make me understand
You can make me do all the good Lord said, when he sent his only Son
but don’t come for my gun...
You can pry it from my cold, dead hands when my turn to stand is done,
but don’t come for my gun...

Your friend’s song is excellent. Please give him my compliments.
Pretty good yourself, I like it.
Tommy wrote a few for some others, ever here of It’s 5:00 somewhere? Like I need to ask.
Thanks for that.
That’s a great song...we sing it at Karaoke sometimes. Liked your friend on FB.
