Looks like the crimes where committed in ‘86 and ‘87. The cases may have gone cold. Also the trials may have been delayed by defense tactics. Regardless, this guy is a scum bag. Could you imagine the evil of raping and killing women in their 80’s and 90’s?

This is from another story and it sheds more light on the subject. What it doesn’t explain is WHY it took so long to have the court case.
I wonder if he committed another crime and was then linked to these murders by DNA evidence.
‘The court did agree with Lott’s contention that the victim impact testimony by the granddaughter of one victim, who testified that she believed Lott should be put to death, should not have been allowed. But the court found that because of “overwhelming evidence of Lott’s gift(SIC)” the testimony “did not have a substantial and injurious effect” on the jury’s decision to impose the death sentence.
The evidence against Lott included DNA taken from the victims that was matched to Lott’

Thanks for the link. I'll read it. Surely the quote was supposed to be "overwhelming evidence of Lott's guilt."
I can't imagine the feelings of the granddaughter. The rage would be so huge you'd about incinerate, I would think.
I believe the article I posted said he was originally convicted in 2001. So it did take a while to find him, and the evidence was apparently DNA evidence. It explains part of the delay.

Let him visit this historic site in nearby Ft. Smith. America was a far more civilized country when we weren't so squeamish about using these when needed.

He’s had 25 free years his victims didn’t get.

Love it. Nooses are reusable, relatively cheap, and, surprisingly painless when done properly.

More black on white rape and murder. Everything I can see about the victims says they were white, not black.
