What is going in in NYC. I have never heard of incidents like this in other major cities with subway systems.

There is a reason public transportation never became popular in America. Thugs. America has a bumper crop and it is wise to isolate and avoid them or you will be sacrificed at the alter of socialism.

Don’t live in the city ghetto. Don’t travel with the ghetto on the bus or train. Make city politicans accept and accomodate private, safe transportation. If they don’t, refuse to work in their city.

That’s the unspoken truth. I’ve seen the look of terror as people get on a bus or train and see the only seat(s) available are next to thugs. Especially young females. No wonder people won’t use public transportation.

I had one thug show me a gun on a bus 30 years ago. That was my last time on Greyhound.

“Every time I await a train in a NYC subway station I make a conscious effort to stay away from the tracks to avoid just such a fate.”

I used to take the number 7 in the 70s. I stood away from the track with the same fear, but then there was the other fear...shoving your way into the train from the crowd that assembled around the two sliding doors and cramming up against the glass as it slammed back and forth down the track to queens...

‘anybody here from Queens? I’m from normal parents myself”.

What the hell - is Bloomberg incapable of passing legislation that declares subway platforms “Pushing-free zones”?

Don’t say it too loud - Bloomie is looking for ways to impede common sense. NYC, the financial capitol, and the mayor’s focus is on salt and big drinks. His focus is on health and nothing about the SAFETY of the millions who live there and the millions who come and go on a daily basis.

He’s safe - so he’s just another liberal where it’s all about him.

If Rudy didn’t do a whoop*ss job of cleaning NYC - I doubt he would have run for mayor. He would have stayed in his ivory tower with limousines at his disposal. He’s living off the successful job Rudy did, so he can live out his fantasy of telling people what to do. Put the shaker and big gulp down. What a freak’n wuss he is - fairy style!

I use to ride the trains on the East Coast. I never understood the allure of standing near the edge of the platform.

All the people who make decisions in NY ride around in limo’s and have armed bodyguards..they could care less about what happens to the little people.

>The woman, whom the police described as Hispanic, in her early 20s and heavyset, fled and was being sought by all police officers in the area.

Does this mean that witnesses did not apprehend this woman? Was she holding a weapon or are these witnesses really so effing cowardly and/or stupid to let her get away?

Any half healthy witness that did not apprehend this woman (if she was unarmed) needs to be locked up with the criminals themselves.

Well said! And that mini-monster is chief among them. He probably gave away packages of his own “odor-free” excrement as holiday gifts. And figured the recipients would be thrilled and grateful to receive them.

New convenience rules in effect immediately -

Trains must not exceed 2 mi/h within 1000 feet of any living creature or within 1 mile of a school building.

Also, passengers must be held in a waiting room until the train comes to a complete stop and has maintained that stop for 60 seconds. At that time passengers will be allowed to enter the platform area one at a time. No running allowed. The next passenger will not be released from the waiting room until the previous passenger is seated.

There will be no standing inside of cars. If any passenger stands during the boarding process, the boarding process will be halted until the standing passengers has been arrested and removed from the premises.

These new rules have been instituted by Mayor Bloomberg for your convenience. Thanks for riding with us!

What we really need is to make all the subways train-free zones. There is no reason to allow these dangerous trains to run rampant through the tunnels of the city, just waiting for some innocent victim to hit.

Sure, some will say that trains don’t kill people, crazy people on platforms do — but we know the truth, that if there was no train on that track, nobody would be getting hit by a train.

"The woman walked behind the man along the platform, mumbling to herself,....."

Here is another article on a man mumbling to himself then stabbing a woman.

Woman stabbed on Greyhound

It used to be when people were mumbling to themselves you KNEW they were crazy. Not anymore. When I am about to get away from a mumbling person I then see that little microphone in their ear

Investigators were unable to immediately determine much about the victim beyond his gender, Mr. Browne said. “The body is very badly damaged and making it difficult to make those kind of judgments,” he added.

Should they ever find the perp, will the punishment fit the crime? I sincerely doubt it.
