That’s why I like Mosins. Illiterate drunk peasant can clean and re-assemble.

Don’t know how but I actually re-assembled mine the first time, the second time not so much... it spent a few months in a box till I broke down and surrendered her to the local expert...
Now I only shoot clean ammo through her.
TT
How true. I have never completely disassembled mine in fear of not being able to put it back together. Since I bought it for only $160 back in 1983 it would probably cost more to put it together than the original purchase price.
How far did you tear it down?
I hear you. I almost lost my mind figuring out how to put my wife’s 1908 Colt .380 Hammerless back together. Had to completely strip to clean decades of neglect. An insanely difficult reassembly. I got there, but geezus.......
Making a video while breaking it down helps
Funny. I learned to take one apart and put it back together easily.
When one of our employees brought one he bought to work to show it off , I immediately disassembled it and challenged him to put it back together.
hours later and lots of cussing, he could not get it together. Then I took it from him, turned my back and then turned around with it assembled. He reached for it, I turned around and disassembled it, and handed it back to him.
This went on for several hours before he finally learned the secret.
It can be done.

I have the Ruger 22/45 Lite. I’ve never sworn so much in so little time in my life. I told my husband that I ran out of cuss words. Great fun to shoot, but a real b!tch to put back together. So, off I go to the place where I got it. It turns out that they make a modification kit where after installed, you just have to unscrew one piece to take the slide off. “Great”, says I. I took it home and now I can’t get the screw to re-thread. Will go back on Thursday, I think.
Yes they can be a bear if you don’t hold it at a certain angle so the pieces line up inside, its like angle one way and then angle it another. I remember taking apart my Remington Model 11 autoloader shotgun. the first time, not the most difficult but its a trial of patience.
Ah, c’mon! If a girl like me can do it, you can, too! LOL!

LOL...Been there, done that with my Mark I...to get it back together you have to hold your tongue in just the right place between your teeth (Mark I and Mark II are basically the same gun)
