Doesn't matter, if you take apart your Ruger Mark II, you'll have to take it to the gunsmith to put back together. ;)

How true. I have never completely disassembled mine in fear of not being able to put it back together. Since I bought it for only $160 back in 1983 it would probably cost more to put it together than the original purchase price.

I bought mine in the early 1970 time frame for $29.95. They are a bear to put back together, but when you learn the trick of the positions of the various parts. It is not that hard. Like everything, experience makes things look easy.

I have a huge phobia of not being able to reassemble a firearm after breaking it down, so mine mostly just get half cleaning. I just have visions of little springs and slivers of metal flying everywhere. It’s the result of a bad experience I had 20 years ago with a P85 Ruger.

I bought my first one for $45.00 new back in 1968. ;-D Wish I still had it.
