One of the festivals on the Chinese calender is the Winter Solstice. On that day family gathers together and have a dinner because it’s the last big festival that is celebrated until Chinese New Year (there are other festivals between the two dates but most of them are regional rather than national). I wonder how many families are going to cancel the dinner just in case.

I’m in Hong Kong and my in-laws plan on getting together. However, the one thing I’ve always wondered is that if the world ends on 12/21 does that mean that this side of the world ends several hours before the Mayan side of the world?
