Vanity

Posted on 11/29/2012 12:43:13 PM PST by FloridaGeezer

I tried to post this vanity a week or so ago but was refused publication. This is my second attempt.

If the United States is ever going to control the war-like actions of our president we must pass a law could throw him out of office rather quickly. My proposal is that any legislator could call for the impeachment and removal from office if he/she has not sought congressional approval of the use of our military within 30 days.

Approval for the use of our military for what purpose? Your post leaves out some details.

While only Congress can declare war per the Constitution, the only thing that Congress can do is refuse to pay for that war’s costs. Obviously that will destroy the Military, as they are sworn to obey the orders of the Commander-in-Chief. Do you really think that any Congress will impeach under those conditions?

Any easy route to or method of impeachment of a president WILL NOT be used by our side against the enemy and will be used by the enemy against our side.

What we have is a group of people playing for absolute keeps versus a group of people who do not know a game is being played or how to play it and are scared to even try.

2/3rds majority in the House and Senate would be hard to come by

Letters of Marquis and Reprisal to remove the President from office?

I would love to see them try. Imagine how entertaining the MSM coverage would be.

I'm not sure I see the need for any such bill.

I thought any member of the House could call for impeachment for any reason they saw fit to do so. It's just a question of whether there would be enough other representatives to equal a 2/3 majority to pass the bill of Impeachment.

I”ll try to clarify my post. The law that I am proposing would not impeach Clinton for his sexcapades in the white house but would impeach him for the UN/Yugoslavian war that were still paying for.

Part of the problem we have with impeachment was caused by the Eighteenth amendment when the Senate was created. That has complicated the impeachment process ever since.

Ok, now I’m really confused. The 18th amendment was Prohibition and was repealed by the 21st. And the Senate was created by Article 1. ???
