They’re beautiful to look at but I keep my distance from all of them, even the little ones.
I don’t worry about the little ones attacking but it’s not in the fawn’s interest to come close to humans. Sooner or later they’ll meet up with a hunter.
The bigger ones are a different story. Very unpredictable, especially if they’re protecting their young or if it’s mating season. And then there’s the problem of ticks. They’re beautiful though.
The picture is fuzzy but that’s an 8 point buck and a doe to his right in the scrub oak. The rest of the herd came a few minutes later.
