Deer attacks two men, then takes man's cigarettes
KETK NBC 56 - Tyler, Texas ^ | November 19, 2012 | Nicole Vowell

Whitehouse, Texas — Joseph Rose and Cole Kellis were leaving their home in Whitehouse on Friday morning when they noticed a deer in their front yard.

Rose approached the deer and he says the deer seemed friendly. But then Kellis and Rose say the deer then charged them and started to attack.

Rose and Kellis ran to Rose's pick-up truck to try to get away from the wild buck. The deer then "poked" Rose in his ribs, so Rose jumped out of his truck into the back-bed. Rose says he left his driver-side door open and the deer climbed in and took his pack of cigarettes that were sitting in his center console.

The deer starting eating Rose's smokes, and when Rose tried to get them back, Rose says the deer got more aggressive.

They then had to call Whitehouse police and the Game Warden. When police arrived they had to tase the deer and then Rose says it took more than 5 men to restrain the buck.

KETK spoke to Smith County Game Warden, Dustin Dockery, and he says, "Admire deer from a distance but do not approach them because they can be dangerous."

That is a nice buck. I am surprised no else around has got him yet. Too residential although that doesn’t stop anyone around here?

A spokesdeer for the Socialist Ruminents of America (SRA) said that humans should voluntarily share their cigarettes with less fortunate wildlife, and the entire incident was caused by homo sapien greed.

“Yep. I think it’s rutting season.”

Don’t the cigarettes come in to play after the rutting is done?

I have seen my dogs eat my spent plug of chewing tobacco after I spit it out. Maybe it helps them get rid of worms?

Three deer used the automatic doors at a Kohl’s department store to get in... and then leave.

Shoppers in Iowa got an unusual glimpse of wildlife Monday morning when a doe and two fawns wandered into a department store.

Coralville Police Chief Barry Bedford says the deer used doors that open automatically to get into a Kohl’s store.
He says the fawns stayed in the store’s vestibule, but their mother made it into the store and headed toward the back.
Police say employees opened up some back doors and the doe exited. The two fawns turned around and used the automatic exit doors to leave the store.
No injuries or damage was reported.

We have loads of them. Herds come through all the time. He was part of probably 12 or so that came through this morning. There is no hunting within 150 feet of a house, so just beyond him is fair game. But, that’s not much of a hunt. You could practically lead him further into the woods with a handful of grass, pet him, and then do him in. Colorado isn’t much for deer hunting other than going out and bagging one. I mean, if you can’t kill a deer in this State just hang your head and go back to LA or NYC where you must have come from. I’m not a deer hunter, don’t need or like the meat. It is pretty cool to nearly pet a small black bear in the morning sleeping on the front porch only to go to the back porch an hour later and see a couple of 10 point buck sleeping under the trees with their harem of a dozen does.

They should have at least offered the buck a light so he wouldn’t have had to chew the filters to get his nicotine high. I can only imagine what the deer in Colorado and Washington will be doing to get some Mary Jo Juana.

Is that a doe in your yard? Beautiful.

They’re beautiful to look at but I keep my distance from all of them, even the little ones.

I don’t worry about the little ones attacking but it’s not in the fawn’s interest to come close to humans. Sooner or later they’ll meet up with a hunter.

The bigger ones are a different story. Very unpredictable, especially if they’re protecting their young or if it’s mating season. And then there’s the problem of ticks. They’re beautiful though.
