Lots mentioned Serenity. I’ve never even heard of it. I’m going to check it out.
***It was a thread like this that I first heard of it. You’ll be pleased. The original TV series “Firefox” is available from Netflix/rental. I found it excellent.

One of the things that I like about threads like this is to learn about good sci-fi. But if posters are asked to put up only their best 3, that generates very few sci-fi movies to look for. What I would like to see is a thread that starts with the 20 or 30 best sci-fi films, and then asks what OTHERS are there which are worth watching?

Well, I am a bit late with a response to this thread, but I am bored, so I'll say I am another one who would pick such classics as Forbidden Planet and Children of the Damned among others, but if I had to pick a "Hidden" gem that I didn't see mentioned it, would be what was released in the U.S. in the early sixties as These Are the Damned (which opened with
