at the same time they invent new laws to turn regular law-abiding folks into criminals for doing stuff that once was legal, in order to confiscate wealth and deprive people of gun rights when guns had nothing to do with it.

Cities from coast-to-coast are facing unprecedented budget deficits that have left government officials with no choice but to strip police forces to a bare minimum. We now regularly hear about new ‘records’ being broken in the resulting crime waves that follow.

Law enforcement officials in Chicago, for example, have said that their city has deteriorated into a domestic war zone with gang violence leaving scores of people dead on a regular basis.

No evidence is presented that Chicago has cut its police forces. I don't think they have. The effect is therefore without the cause posited.

Never ever ever do the cuts reach the guy downtown that you never heard of, with the paneled office and the leather chair and the 200k salary...

Obama tried to save those jobs with temporary infusions of federal cash, but the layoffs went ahead anyway (both fed & state governments had run out of money anyway).

They are Obama’s second-largest voting block (government workers, right behind permanently-unassimilated minorities).

I would advise anyone doing business of any kind in DE to get out and get out fast. The quicker this Socialist state collapses the better I like it.

I have lived here half my life (jobs) and now I want out. Buy my house and I am gone.

You can’t put new wine in an old wineskin nor repair an old garment with new cloth. As long as we are full of ourselves, we have no room for God. We must get rid of the old to make room for the new.

All that is happening is a great emptying of ourselves to make room for God.

From the article:

Impoverishment will lead to desperation and anger, which in turn leads to “nothing left to lose” attitudes and a rise in violence and criminal activity.

Marcella —

Please permit me to offer this to you, because I infer you are on the edge of living in fear/ allowing others to restrict your life:

To NOT carry is to choose to be defenseless (non vehere est inermus)

Get licensed, get training, grow confidence, regain liberties they smirk at taking away from you.

After a while, perhaps three months or so, bringing your firearm with you, condition 1 (ready to fire), will be as natural and as comforting as grabbing your keys, cell phone and wallet/purse.

the hardest part is not learning to use a firearm safely and effectively, nor will it be getting over thinking EVERYONE knows you have one. The hardest part of “carrying” is developing the will to use it WHEN (and only if) NECESSARY. Self defense is a mindset more than a physical state.

REM: 99.9+% of licensed carriers NEVER draw their firearm in self-defense, but ALL feel more confident and capable.

I just really encourage you to consider coming over to the ‘defended side’. It may look scary now, but it is very comforting when you get here.

There is not enough money to go around....Our town recently got a grant for some social improvement crap. I asked the Mayor “ HOW, HOW. The state doesn’t have ANY money! How could you accept this?!!” He said, ‘ Well if WE didn’t, some other town would have.’ Totally clueless.

Look for more union actions to start popping.

Overwhelm the system.

Cutting essential services to scare people into voting for higher taxes all the while not cutting the fat, the multiple layers of managers, or wateful spending on street flowers, etc.
