You think correct. I picked that up also. The reference to "princess" is a lazy and uneducated writer trying to make sensation out of a woman who seems to do not much more than study.

I watch a lot of Korean TV shows online and calling people “prince” and “princess” seems to be another way of calling them arrogant or full of themselves.

I don’t know about China though.
