MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A Memphis Police officer was shot near the downtown area Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, on the 500-block of Arrington Avenue. May the good Lord forgive me, I laughed.

The comments here and after the Fox14 story are universally anti-cop.

Thanks a lot, you marxist, dumbed-down-cop, police state, leftist bastids. You’ve completed the us-vs.-them mentality that will get us all killed.

Cops: Proof that when you flunk out of janitor training there is still a job waiting.

Weird story is weird.

The cop who was shot and is in critical condition (Bryant) is not the cop who was trying to shoot the dog.

The cop who was trying to shoot the dog is the one who shot Bryant.

Bryant was wearing a bullet proof vest, but he is reported to be in critical condition.

Considering that the shooter cop was aiming at the general level of a pit bull, just where on his body was Bryant struck that resulted in a critical injury in spite of his bullet proof vest?

Just idle curiousity about a weird story.

I laughed like hell, and I'm not sorry at all. My black Lab laughed with me. We were cleaning our sniper rifles and assault weapons. She and I have more guns than Napoleon, but I don't do any sport hunting.

Stories like this should specify whether the dog and any people who may have been in the area are OK.
