This has to do with the fact that, when things are going along basically fine, people won’t vote for a change. In addition, Zero had a fanatical base who DID turn up at the polls. Those long lines? Aw, I don’t feel like spending 90 minutes waiting, my smartphone needs charging, I won’t be able to play my games while I wait.

10 million votes down is like nobody voted in Michigan and Ohio. Obama was down through the trap door, just Romney couldn’t nail it shut. I’m struggling to figure out why.
