I wouldn't say that the talk of secession is because of the re-election of Obama, because that gives him far too much credit.

However, what the elections going back to 1988 have told me is that there are two diametrically opposed viewpoints in this country, that are not likely to change -- particularly in the solid blue Northeast, Solid blue West Coast, and solid Red South.

It's hard to imagine an Executive Branch that's capable of responding equally to two different states -- one voting 65-35 against, and one voting 65-35 for. There are two different worlds.

He’s just the in your face messenger. Obama is easily survivable. The electoral majority that decided they want welfare instead of opportunity...not so much.
