I am afraid so. Remember the Heller decision won only 5-4 and at least 3 Justices are potential retirees during this term. Look for a run at the 2A to either reverse or neutralize the individual right to own and bear arms.
I would respectfully suggest that if you believe that the disarmament of criminals is the outcome of gun laws that you really don't have a very good understanding of gun laws. Do a little homework - the 2A is a great lesson in the application of the law and the Constitution. Start with Gun Talk .
Agreed that silver is better in a pinch.
Also, during the 1930s .gov confiscated gold not silver. That is what is called a clue.
Stay below the radar...
***As to cheap hand guns, I could not care less if the sorts of people who tend to buy and use cheap handguns are disarmed.***
Careful for what you wish for! You should see the high quality firearms banned by the 1968 Gun Control Law back then because they were deemed unsuitable for Americans.
When was the last time you saw a real German made Walther PPK? Or a real Baby Browning?
About 1969 the DENVER POST tried to convince people that the RUGER .22 AUTO was a “Saturday Night Special” because it was under $50.00 back then.
Real “cheap guns” ($10.00)were made by EIG, RG, IMP, and lots of real cheap Spanish companies.
My first pistol was a cheap RG.
Me too I’m a GUN VIRGIN hopefully someone will reply your question. I too want to learn since I live alone and want to defend myself when the crap hit the ceilin.
A gun virgin with a handle of Patriot Babe will have no shortage of eager firearms instructors offering to help.
See post # 19 upthread, it contains good advice. Most of us learned to shoot with a .22 rimfire rifle; a manual bolt-action type is a simple, easy to understand design for learning the basics. Money is never wasted on a good, basic .22 rifle; handguns and more powerful long guns can follow.
I can say for sure that our local gun store counter was very busy today, but not as bad as it was the day after the election in 2008.
I had decided that if Obama somehow got re-elected, that I was finally going to break down and buy an AR.
I am now the proud owner of a Windham Weaponry flat-top carbine. Sure is going to look funny in the safe next to all of the beautiful bolt guns!
Thanks so much for the info!! Times, they are a changin’...
Well, I guess we can both learn about this, together. I have a feeling we’re not the only ones wanting to learn more about all of this.
Maybe you could post on your state message board to get some Freeper advice close to you? It always helps to try before you buy if possible. Best wishes on your endeavor.
You could start like I did with a 22 lr rifle. Go to Walmart and get a hundred dollar savage arms ( thats a brand) rifle with some ammo, go to an established rifle range and start shooting wth someone to watch you for safety.
I agree good to have a classmate =)
