1. Buy used or new via secondary markets. You can use Craigslist to find a lot of new stuff at less than retail. Added bonus - you pay no taxes into the system. You could argue that someone does to get the item the first time, but Im not so sure. I see a lot of new stuff on Craigslist at a considerable discount to retail. Something tells me it wasnt bought at a register or the seller would be taking a huge loss.
2. Contribute to the secondary market by selling the stuff just sitting around your house.
3. Buy *down*. Sure, you can afford that nice new Mercedes, but youll pay more in taxes on it. Find a lesser vehicle that makes you happy that feeds the beast less.
4. Invest and hold. Avoid paying capital gains at all costs.
5. FIX YOUR STUFF instead of replacing it. So many people look at durable possessions as disposable. Take those pants to the tailor, or better yet, get a used sewing machine and fix them yourself. Find someone with a welding machine to fix that patio chair.
6. Maintain your possessions properly. Clean the dust out of your computer. Sand the rust off your trailer and paint it.
7. Plant a garden.
8. Enjoy life more simply. Choose a day at the park over an afternoon at the movies. Attend a church cookout instead of going to Chilis. Keep your eye out for church events, even if it is not yours. Lots of churches have some really fun stuff going on!
9. Speaking of things like the movies - stop going. Wait for the DVD and rent it for $1 at Redbox. If there is a cheaper option to do something, take that option. Get rid of cable and get Hulu+. Watch your shows a few days or weeks late. Do you really need to see it THAT DAY? Hulu+ is cheaper. Netflix streaming is cheaper. The amount of content is acceptable. You may even find shows you never knew existed that become your new favorites. Or - heres a radical idea - buy used books dirt cheap and READ.
10. Set up two days a week to run errands. Run them all at once and efficiently instead of wasting money (and taxes) on fuel. If your workplace offers a work-from-home option, TAKE IT. (The anti-oil libtards will love this one, but Im talking about an opportunity to NOT pay taxes into the system.)
11. Make gifts instead of buying them.
12. I hate to say this one, but... watch your charitable giving. Give locally - like to your church or to someone you *personally* know that is in distress. You can also give to certain charities where you know the giving goes to those actually in need: such as Operation Christmas Child. Stop giving to places where the money is wasted, that includes fundraisers for your local school. If you want your child to learn more, spend an extra 30-60 minutes a night with them doing something educational. Theyll get more benefit out of that than they will from buying cookies through the fund raiser. Trust me.
Theres probably a dozen more ways to disconnect from the beast, but those are the first that come to mind.
If you have ping list on this sort of thing. Please include me. Thanks.
Barter for goods and services whenever possible and always do it under the table. I’ve got a good furnace man who gives me better service at virtually no cost aside from giving him a little extra garden space and excess veggies.
Invest in what? Even gold/silver is going to be very risky.
Buy a welder; learn how to use it. Likewise, a pipe wrench, a chainsaw and chain files.
And reloading equipment for whatever firearms you own.
You DO own firearms, right?
Borrow from the library. You've paid taxes for it, you might was well use it.
So what do we do when Iran has nuclear weapons?
If there is any way possible, get your family down to one vehicle. Make it a gas saver. Maintain it well and run it until it can’t be fixed.
If you live in a place where CNG is available, consider a conversion to CNG. (I actually don’t know whether this is good advice or not, since cutting off CNG or making it unaffordable would be easier for the government to do than cutting off gasoline.)
This is exactly, 100% backwards.
Join with America. Get involved. Show yourself as a contrast to Obama at every opportunity, and re-define Republicans as a logical alternative to the globalist nonsense.
America first.
Now.
HOME SCHOOL! Take your children out of the propaganda system

Watch your shows delayed, w/limited commercials, for free. I am following 2 shows on Hulu and I use the commercial time to do something else, quickly. If I miss a few minutes, I can rewind and catch it.
Stop Christmas Spending -maybe just the kids but Adult gifts? NO
Buy food at discount stores - they work on lower margins.
Don't shop at stores with Unions.
Figure out the correct mix of Charity giving to reduce your taxes to the lowest tier possible.(as above-give local-which doesn't mean 'your' local, if you live in a blue state)
Know your shopkeeper's politics and shop/don't shop accordingly.
I’ll be selling my acreage in Colorado and using the proceeds to purchase hard assets, such as precious metals.
All excellent ideas!
I have been doing ALL of this for DECADES.
What is the difference? This is a placebo when done in isolation.
You won't have the choice of quitting. 0bama will be sending all jobs to his mentors in china. But hey, at least you can take part in his Food Stamp program.
Good post! Fix stuff—Volt / Ohm meters are so cheap (Digital for less than $20) get one and easily learn to use it.... check if a light bulb is bad...is that outlet bad or is the power off...Its not hard to do...see link...

If you have a ping List, I would like to be on it.
Also consider multi-generational living. I am not talking about giving a spare BR downstairs to the mother-in-law but a true convergence of families with the home geared for that (two laundry rooms, two dishwashers, food planning, fewer cars, etc)
I am stopping all charitable giving. I am going to choose to stop enabling people. Let them face the responsibility of their actions. It is the most loving thing to do.
Maintain your stuff is the best advice. Liberals are spoiled and needy. They always want the newest iphone. DON'T be like them!
Don't go to movies, don't buy crap you don't need. I am cutting myself off as much as possible in all ways. Stop going to subways, pack a lunch. Stop using websites like facebook--the ad money generated by YOUR use of such sites goes directly into democrat campaign and slush-fund coffers! Hell, stop using the vending machine!
GO GALT!
#13. Move to a state that has no state income tax and lowest sales/property tax you can find.
