I voted the evil "early voting" thing a couple of weeks ago, here in Dallas County, Texas, and it took about 20 minutes at Garland City Hall.
Complained to poll worker about lack of American flag by entrance (so you can find the place - it's way back off the road). He was surprised and said something about "some people" were taking them. He got another one somewhere and took it out to the road. It was still there when I left.
N/A because I voted by mail last week. I got tired of the constant “lets move the polling place” routine.
I’m in Indiana so Yawn.
I hope we deliver a conservative senator if Murdoch’s Foot in Mouth disease didn’t cost him Lugar’s seat. I am also hoping to replace House Rep Andre Carson with a real conservative.
I bought ammunition and whiskey today. I’ve got a buzz and have excused the family to the sleeping quarters while I watch my children’s future take shape.
Buzz..... on!
I voted Baltimore County, Maryland last Thusday. It took me 50 minutes and I went in at 1:30 PM
Very quiet.
Reporting from Sierra Vista AZ
It was a very pleasant smoothly run polling place. Very friendly.
We have the ballots you have to fill in with black ink. Kept going back to Romney/Ryan abt 10 times to make sure it was completely filled in. LOL
Busier than usual here in the 10th Ward of Chicago. Last-minute changes in precincts meant that some people could no longer vote at their usual polling places and the judges had trouble figuring out where they should go. That caused a bit of turmoil. One very interesting thing — this neighborhood is usually littered with yard signs. There are practically none this year, and the only ones at the polling places I passed were Romney/Ryan.
It was orderly and calm in the Lakewood area of Dallas. I was voter number 95.
I usually vote after work but since I retired in Aug. this is my first time voting during the morning hours.
We didn’t have any lines, but in our small town, lines are unheard of. I will say there was alot of voters in the room but couldn’t tell who was who.
Got my “I Voted” sticker and left.
Voted at 9:00AM. Only voter in the polling place. Bergheim, TX. This is very Republican territory in the Texas Hill Country. Most of the local section of the ballot was made up of unopposed Republicans.
Here in New Milford, CT my poll was hopping. I had to wait in a short line and was happy to see that 2 people who wanted to vote and were unregistered were sent to city hall to register. I read that in Ohio 2 judges were removed for allowing unregistered voters to vote...so at least CT isn’t that far gone...
In and out in 10 minutes in my heavily Rat county but slightly conservative city. By the time I was leaving, a line had formed, but nothing major. Hearing stories of people waiting hours to do what I did in 10 minutes had me thankful my experience was easy.
This was the longest I’ve ever had to wait to vote in the last 40 years. The lines were pretty long for late morning when I usually go to vote. There were 8 state constitutional amendments to vote on and 1 school board issue and 1 millage issue, so that slowed things up. It was over an hour and the line was 50% longer when I got done. Drove past later in the day and there were half as many cars in the lot.
Pretty busy. DH went at a quarter to 8 this morning & at 8:20, there were 20 people ahead of him & he said about 20 people had come out.
When I went, around 3, I didn’t count the people, but I stood in line about 15 minutes. Our polling place has changed, so I don’t know how to compare it to what we’ve been used to (which was fast, even when it was busy)
At my polling place in Beirut all the Hezbollah were
wearing Barry O shirts.
I guess the apology tour did work after all.
Easy Peasy.
I live on golf course, the precinct is at the club house.
Went into the dinning room, which had been segregated from the rest of the building and dropped off my ballot,
went into the clubhouse, ordered a Jack Black and sat outside, on the balcony overlooking the 1st hole and started reading FR as I sipped my nice beverage.
Got bored, came home and I am watching a movie called “What would the world like without America?”
Interesting to see my thoughts in a movie.
We arrived around 2:30 and there was no wait. However, our daughter tells me that the poll workers told her turnout was very heavy earlier in the day and they were just in a lull while we were there.
Later we were out and about and every polling place we passed was jam packed with cars. Part of the area was afluent suburb of a normally blue county(southern Montgomery, OH) and part was rural (Greene).
I’m very familiar with the fan. That’s great news! Thanks for sharing.
4:30 Warren County Ohio. Had to wait to park. Entered polling place and my four year old yelled “where’s Romney”. The line was wraped around the inside like a snake. Everyone laughed at that comment. Waited about 30 min to vote and then had a hotdog and soup. The line and parking lot was about the same when I left at 5:30. I was voter # 534. Largest number I have seen at this time of day was 360.
